This funding supports house leadership in hosting university faculty guests for small group dinners with students, in the residences whenever possible.
More About the Faculty Small Group Dinners Endowed Fund
- Application is required to access these funds, and requests can be made for individual house programs, house+house programs and house+neighborhood programs.
- This fund is funded by an endowment. This funding is distributed equally across the neighborhoods.
- Funds are available on a first come first served, one program per house through winter quarter. Neighborhood councils will approve up to $1,000 per application. Houses who need more than $1,000 to support their programs will be encouraged to find other sources of funding to help fund your full proposal, such as house dues.

Appropriate Use of These Funds
- Costs associated with hosting a guest faculty member for dinner with students, in the residences whenever possible. Appropriate costs include:
- catering or other food costs associated with meal
- equipment rentals or other supply costs for temporarily setting up venue to make it appropriate for a meal with a faculty member
- honorarium or gratitude gift for faculty member
- travel expenses for faculty member
Inappropriate Use of These Funds (Will Not Be Approved)
- Any guest who is not current or former university faculty
- Any participation incentive more than $50 per person, or any gift cards of any value
- Any event taking place off campus
- Alcohol for students
- Facility improvements, or the purchasing of furniture or other facility equipment typically provided by a venue (or Student Housing in case of a residence) or available to rent, including but not limited to: couches, tables, chairs, linens, lecterns, projectors and sound systems
