Governance of University Theme Housing
University Theme Houses (Academic and Special Interest) are governed by the Committee on Residential Learning (CoRL), a large and diverse committee providing broad support for residence-based programs that serve undergraduates. Ethnic Theme Houses are overseen directly by the Undergraduate Residence Governance Council, which includes the Vice Provost for Budgets and Auxiliaries Management, Vice Provost for Student Affairs, and Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. The Committee on Residential Learning (CoRL) ensures the highest standards of liberal education in the undergraduate residential experience, as defined by ResEd and mandated by Stanford’s Senate. It is a large and diverse committee providing broad support for residence-based programs that serve undergraduates.
