About Lagunita Court

Lagunita (Spanish for “little lake,” although the nearby lake has been dry for years) is one of the oldest campus residences, built in the1930. Many consider Lagunita Court one of the most attractive dorm complexes on campus, mixing Romanesque, Spanish Colonial, and Spanish Mission architecture, with a central courtyard ringed by California live oaks.  We share the courtyard with five other dorms: Meier and Naranja (Spanish for “orange”), Ujamaa, home of the African-American theme program, Norcliffe and Adelfa (oleander).  In West Lag we have two houses, named to evoke the natural setting: Eucalipto (eucalyptus) and Granada (pomegranate).  Nearby is a gym with a climbing wall, swimming pool and basketball courts, a large field for soccer and frisbee, the Roble Arts Gym with rehearsal and performance space and the Windhover Contemplative Center for when you need a quiet moment.

Resident Fellows

LaCona Woltmon and Cisco Barrón joined the Farm in 2000 as undergraduates. They met in SLE during their first year, explored academic passions sophomore year, studied abroad in Paris junior year, and were RAs senior year. After college, both received Masters degrees in Counseling Psychology from Santa Clara University (SCU) while working full-time at Stanford.

LaCona enjoys traveling the globe, sharing meals with good friends, and curling up with an engaging book. Her undergraduate studies focused on alternative political structures. In that vein, she wrote her International Relation's thesis on Bhutan's Gross National Happiness policy. Shifting from the macro to the micro, LaCona is currently a marriage & family therapist. Her work focuses on individuals coping with trauma and couples navigating the ups & downs of their journey towards "happily ever after." Stop by to chat about your culture, worldly travels, what happiness means to you, how you conceptualize love & relationships, and anything foodie-related.

Cisco enjoys trivia, martial arts, and non-fiction. He double-majored in Philosophy and Political Science and minored in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity. He has two other graduate degrees, including an MA in Higher Education from SCU and an MBA from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. Cisco recently enrolled in the Chicana/o Studies program at San José State University. He's also an analyst for the Office of Graduate Education in Biosciences within the School of Medicine.

Cisco and LaCona continue to find fulfillment in giving back to their alma mater. They look forward to an exciting year full of intellectual vitality and impromptu fun. The two of them are always up for lively discussions, playing board games, eating great food, and sharing a laugh.
