Narnia is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of campus life. When you come home to Narnia after a long day of hard work, you really feel like you're home. The pace of life slows down, allowing students to enjoy the serenity of being the furthest house from the quad. At Narnia, the birds chirp louder, the grass is greener, and the hills are closer.
Narnia is unique in that it’s secluded location requires the residents to rely on each other to create a fun and social community; this is accomplished through classic Narnia events like Friday BBQs on the lake, sand volleyball tournaments, and special dinner parties. Furthermore, the unique setup of Narnia with pods of 2-room doubles lends itself to strong friendships among each member of the pod. Pods also create friendly competition with events that get residents exploring every part of the house.
One of the most important aspects of Narnia is our house staff: our chef, Elijah, hasher, Leti, and resident housekeeper, Alfredo, make this house a home. The kitchen is a central place where nearly everyone goes to hangout, take a study break and chat with anyone else around. They are all amazing and Narnia would not be what it is without each one of them!
Information regarding mail and package delivery
Students living in Row Houses (Upper Row, Lower Row, Clusters 1, 2, or 3/Cowell) are strongly encouraged to follow the directions for the mail and package process provided on the Mail Delivery and Shipping page, as the PO Box address is each student’s official Stanford address and should be maintained during their entire undergraduate career. However, Row residents are also able to have mail packages delivered directly to their Row house by addressing mail and packages to the house's street address. Please be reminded that Student Housing/the University accepts no responsibility for packages sent to/delivered at individual residences.
Additional Community Information
What is the coolest thing about your house & community?
We round out the week with a great bunch of traditions. Elijah, our chef, is famous for his fresh bread, and for Friday lunches he makes fresh bagels. Friday nights we have BeerBQ: we get nice beers and Elijah makes yummy barbeque.
What makes a successful Narnia staff member?
A successful Narnia house staff member is engaged, warm, and excited. A good staff member should be fun-loving but also be able to know when things need to get done and be ready to step up.
Our house is meaningful to the Stanford community because…
Narnia is the perfect home away from home. We’re just removed enough from the rest of campus so that you can completely recharge while still being connected to the Row community.
