Narnia House is a social oasis. Only a 7 minute walk from the row, Narnia reaps all the social benefits while also offering some distance from the roar of the row. Home of Bagelmania (a quarterly event where we enjoy dancing and eating bagels), Narnia encourages a vibrant social culture that is inclusive of the entire campus. However, Narnia also strives to create a tight-knit culture within the house. The pod (corners of the house) dynamic allows for friendships to develop and flourish. Being a little closer to nature, the perks of Narnia’s location are great views of lake lag, and only a short walk to the dish. The beautiful inner courtyard, backyard and sand volleyball court create an amazing space to enjoy the sunshine and company of the surrounding lake houses. Weekends often consist of BBQs and friendly games in the yard. Most importantly, our house staff makes Narnia house feel like home. Our chef, Elijah, might be the most interesting man you’ve ever met. Not to mention he makes amazing food and is constantly bringing good energy to the house. Leti, our hasher, and Nestor, our custodian, help make common spaces such great places to hang out. Narnia wouldn’t be the kick-ass house it is without them, and we’re so lucky to have them!
Information regarding mail and package delivery
Students living in Row Houses (Upper Row, Lower Row, Clusters 1, 2, or 3/Cowell) are strongly encouraged to follow the directions for the mail and package process provided on the Mail Delivery and Shipping page, as the PO Box address is each student’s official Stanford address and should be maintained during their entire undergraduate career. However, Row residents are also able to have mail packages delivered directly to their Row house by addressing mail and packages to the house's street address. Please be reminded that Student Housing/the University accepts no responsibility for packages sent to/delivered at individual residences.
Additional Community Information
What is the coolest thing about your house & community?
We round out the week with a great bunch of traditions. Elijah, our chef, is famous for his fresh bread, and for Friday lunches he makes fresh bagels. Friday nights we have BeerBQ: we get nice beers and Elijah makes yummy barbeque.
What makes a successful Narnia staff member?
A successful Narnia house staff member is engaged, warm, and excited. A good staff member should be fun-loving but also be able to know when things need to get done and be ready to step up.
Our house is meaningful to the Stanford community because…
Narnia is the perfect home away from home. We’re just removed enough from the rest of campus so that you can completely recharge while still being connected to the Row community.
