Updates from the Neighborhood S Council

  • We reviewed some great proposals last week at our second neighborhood council meeting. We were really excited to fund Cottage Cheese Cook Nights with Arroyo, Energy & Indigenous Sovereignty Dinner with Explore Energy House, Ethnic Theme Dorm Book Club with Okada, and Rocky Horror Picture Show (UC Theatre) with Terra!
  • Our next neighborhood council meeting is Wednesday, November 16, at 8:00 p.m. We review proposals for funding at each meeting. All proposals must be submitted 48 hours in advance to be considered.

Application & Review Process

  • Step 1: Identify a topic or program that your community would like to learn more about or that your community would like to partake in that aligns with the neighborhood core principles.
  • Step 2: Connect with your house’s resident fellow, residential student leaders, or neighborhood council representative to brainstorm ideas, learn more about the various sources and purposes of neighborhood funding, and engage them as sponsors.
  • Step 3: Your house’s resident fellow, residential student leaders, or neighborhood council representative submits the application for funding.
  • Step 4: The neighborhood council reviews each proposal and decides on whether to approve or request adjustments to align with funding purposes, and how much funding will be granted.
  • Step 5: Host the event, have fun, take photos, and share them with your event sponsor!
  • Step 6: Your event sponsor submits the post-activity report (including your photos!), to ensure your community remains eligible for future funding.
