Rinconada
RINC LOVE is the foundational essence of our community, ethos, and culture. It’s grounded in open-heartedness, kindness, compassion, inclusivity, justice, celebration, and the reality that RINC is a space and place where the invitation is to be real - about all of life that we can. Realness for us is a path to self-orientation; to closeness and connection, even if what we find is hard to see. Everything belongs and has value. The translation for our residents: YOU BELONG. Just as you are. Who you’ve been, who you are, who you are becoming. All are welcome and honored.
Welcome to RINC!
Being truly welcome at RINC isn’t something that is defined by others. It takes heartful, skillful listening to each resident and the collective community, fierce advocacy for what is needed and just, and ultimate tenderness for what emerges as the truth. It takes feeling cared for, understood, and celebrated. We always say RINC is just a building until (you!) our amazing residents arrive. Then it becomes a place we hope to have the honor of calling a home with them. We hope RINC serves as soothing and meaningful respite from the growth edge that Stanford can be, especially for these wonderful frosh at such a precipice in their lives.

Our academic interests are wide ranging and include holistic education, anti-racist/anti-oppression pedagogies, contemplative practices, integral theory, psychology, mentoring, wisdom, mindfulness, meditation, spirituality, love/relationships, architecture, creativity, and design. We bring decades of experience working with undergraduates like yourselves, so we look forward to getting to know you, supporting your interests as students, and building community together.
We are honored to share in the experience of cultivating community at RINC alongside our daughter, Bri (12 years old), and our little hairless dog, Sweetie. All of us look forward to being part of a new RINC community with you!
