Toussaint Louverture

Main content start

Toussaint Louverture, or "TouLou," is a vibrant community on the upper Row. While residents value a fun-loving and spontaneous atmosphere, they also share a passion for inclusivity and social justice. The house has hosted events like the popular tradition Crepe Night, highlighting various humanitarian causes with a focus on international solidarity, such as the Palestine Children's Relief Fund and the Sudan Relief Fund. Because we host events requiring active resident participation, residents bond with one another in a way that is unique, even among the Row.

More About Toussaint Louverture

The house's newly chosen name, selected by residents in 2023, honors Toussaint Louverture, a former slave and courageous political leader who led the resistance ending French occupation in Haiti. Simultaneously, the name is a nod to the former French House pre-assign community predating the pandemic. TouLou's community aims to embody the values of its namesake.
