Neighborhood F Newsletter - Winter Quarter Week 2
Welcome back to The Farm for winter quarter! We can’t wait to see you. In addition to our usual updates about upcoming neighborhood events, we have some exciting information to share about new opportunities to get involved with our neighborhood this quarter!

Neighborhood Identity Design Process
We’ve been waiting so long…but it’s finally time to decide what our neighborhood aesthetic will be! We invite all the students in our neighborhood to provide input on:
- What should our tree be? Should our tree should also be our mascot or should we have a different mascot?
- Should we have a flag, a sigil, a crest, or all three? What should they look like?
- Should we have a chant? A dance move? A handshake?
Here’s How You Can Participate
Join an ideation session! There will be food, so please register so we can make sure to have enough for everyone.
- Session 1: Tuesday, January 31, 5:00 p.m. at Casper Dining
- Session 2: Wednesday, February 1, 4:00 p.m. at Lantana Lounge
- Session 3: Monday, February 6, 4:00 p.m. at Grove
- Keep an eye out for additional ideation sessions in our next newsletter!
- If you can’t make a session but you have ideas to share, submit them to our virtual suggestion box, which will be open until Sunday, February 5.
At this stage of the process, all ideas are welcome, no matter how seemingly outlandish or wacky! Our neighborhood council will consider all ideas and announce finalists for the neighborhood to vote on in Week 9 of this quarter.

Farm Games
- In partnership with Stanford Recreation & Wellness, this quarter we are launching Farm Games, our annual inter-neighborhood tournament to determine which neighborhood reigns supreme!
- Each quarter will include various competitions — some athletic, some decidedly not — which will go toward determining the first annual Farm Games winner.
Winter Quarter Farm Games Competitions
Inter-neighborhood Two-ball Basketball Tournament, Sunday, February 19
- Put together a neighborhood team first, then register each member of your team.
- Points will be given not just for the winner according to the rules of the game, but also to wackiest costumes, best neighborhood spirit, and best fans.
Dish Run, Sunday, February 26
- Register to represent your neighborhood and get a free t-shirt!
- Points will be given not just to best finishes by time, but also for best costumes.

Other Updates from the Neighborhood F Council
We were excited to approve the following proposal at our first meeting of winter quarter last week:
- Pi Phi Open House
Our next council meeting is Wednesday, January 25, at 2:00 p.m. Please review the guidance about the council application & review process.

Upcoming Neighborhood F Events
Pi Phi Open House
Friday, January 20, 2:30-4:30 p.m.
An Open House event where womxn from the neighborhood can stop by the space for refreshments and learn more about the Stanford experience. We hope this event can be a safe space for underclass womxn to ask questions about how to navigate opportunities to build community at Stanford.
Coffee & Appreciation Gift Bags
Wednesday, January 25, 4:30-7:30 p.m.
Neighborhood F invites you to gather in warmth and appreciation at Gerhard Casper Dining. Create a goodie bag to show your appreciation to a friend or roommate as you enjoy a cup of coffee or tea.

Until next time… Richard Duncan and Scott Doorley (your Neighborhood F Council co-leads)
