West Lag (Eucalipto and Granada) has a strong sense of history, community, and tradition. Our family atmosphere recognizes individual differences and diverse backgrounds and encourages you to handle the stresses of college life constructively. We want you to have fun while you learn, and we’ll offer organized events and programs both on and off campus, such as movie nights, crafting sessions, small group discussions, and trips around the Bay Area.
About Lagunita Court
Lagunita (Spanish for “little lake,” although the nearby lake tends to be dry) is one of the oldest campus residences, built in the1930. Many consider Lagunita Court one of the most attractive dorm complexes on campus, mixing Romanesque, Spanish Colonial, and Spanish Mission architecture, with a central courtyard ringed by California live oaks. We share the courtyard with five other dorms: Meier and Naranja (Spanish for “orange”), Ujamaa, home of the African-American theme program, Norcliffe and Adelfa (oleander). In West Lag we have two houses, named to evoke the natural setting: Eucalipto (eucalyptus) and Granada (pomegranate). Nearby is a gym with a climbing wall, swimming pool and basketball courts, a large field for soccer and frisbee, the Roble Arts Gym with rehearsal and performance space and the Windhover Contemplative Center for when you need a quiet moment.
