Student Internships
Student interns are an essential part of how we accomplish our vision of vibrant and connected undergraduate residential communities. The ideas, feedback, contributions, and input generated by our student interns help shape our work and the experiences of the people we support. Students gain valuable skills and experiences in these roles, such as leadership, communication, and problem-solving.
Office Administration Intern
Residential Education is seeking four undergraduate students to provide support for the general, day-to-day administrative, operational and clerical tasks related to the department’s central office. Administration interns work closely with the Residential Education Operations Manager to ensure that our constituents and campus partners experience courteous and informed engagement during their visit.
General
- Attend regular check-in meetings with the Residential Education Operations Manager
- Attend and participate in training sessions throughout the academic year
Office support
- Provide a professional, helpful, and welcoming atmosphere for faculty, staff, students and visitors to the Residential Education central office
- Provide coverage for the front desk including directing students and staff to the correct meeting spaces, accepting packages on behalf of the department, and other triaging duties
Administrative support
- Assist with projects as required (e.g., prepare materials for distribution, create spreadsheets, event set-up, coordinate office deliveries, etc.)
- Other assignments as requested by the Residential Education Operations Manager
- Must be eligible to work up to 10 hours per week according to University policy on limitations on hours of employment for undergraduate students (see Admin Guide Memo 10.1.1 Undergraduate Student Employment: “Hours Per Week”)
- Commitment to maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive information and student data
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Autumn, winter, and spring quarter (September 22, 2026 - June 11, 2027)
$20-$21.50/hour based on quarters of experience.
Students eligible for Federal Work-Study are encouraged to apply, but that is not a requirement for the position.
