Welcome home! At Stanford, your house is more than where you live — it’s your community. Now is the time to make it your own. Explore the different types of houses within each complex and connect with your local staff.

Explore the Houses

  • At 1115 Campus, we pride ourselves on our cooking, music, and art and our community is comprised of not-so-amateur chefs, DJs, musicians, artists, designers, sculptors, brewers, and more.

    550 Lasuen Mall is a self-operated house located on the Row, near Tresidder Memorial Union.
  • 576 Alvarado exterior. Credit: Residential and Dining Enterprises
    Historically autonomous and self-managed, 576 Alvarado is a co-op that prides itself on its deep history and sense of independence.
  • 586 Mayfield's small size makes for an intimate and connective experience.

    680 Lomita is located at the top of a hill. Our backyard also includes such amenities as a basketball court and sand volleyball court in addition to a nice patio and grassy area.
  • We welcome friends to visit our house on any given day, and promise that you will be greeted by a diverse, good-natured—albeit somewhat rambunctious—group.
  • Adams House is located within Governor's Corner, providing close access to the Arrillaga Outdoor Education and Recreation Center (AOERC) and the trails surrounding Lake Lagunita.

    Alpha Phi/Kappa Kappa Gamma is located in the northern part of campus at 675 Lomita and is easily accessible to the heart of the Farm.
  • We challenge you to use life in Arroyo as part of a lifelong quest to: Be curious amid opportunity & diversity, Be of service to the world, & Be true to yourself (even as you question old ways and evolve).

    In Branner, we work to foster a caring community of engaged citizens who explore personal growth, intellectual pursuits and public service with inspiration, innovation and passion.
  • Burbank is located in Stern Hall, close to Green Library, Stanford Bookstore, Main Quad, Wilbur Field, Meyer Green, and outdoor space (including basketball and sand volleyball courts).
  • Casa Zapata is a four-class house focusing on the Latine experience through educational and cultural programs that seek to center, honor and celebrate the wide of diversity and intersectional identities within Latinidad.
  • Castaño is part of the vibrant Gerhard Casper Quad, which is home to the acclaimed Gerhard Casper Dining Commons. Residents enjoy a wonderful range of house amenities, as well as close access to Manzanita Field.
  • Cedro is located on the east side of campus, in the community of houses known together as Wilbur Hall.

    Columbae is Stanford’s first co-op, founded during the anti-war movement in 1970 as a home for students committed to social and environmental justice. For over 50 years, our home has been a tight-knit community built on the principle of consensus.

    Renovated in 2009, Crothers Hall consists of two separate buildings: Crothers, an all-frosh residence (with 6 RAs) and Crothers Memorial, an upperclass residence (with 6-7 RAs).

    Donner was built in the early 1950s and extensively renovated in 1995.

    Duan is located in east campus, with wings ranging from six to ten stories high. The community opened in 2020 and features a design that reflects the distinct style and attributes of many of Stanford’s most beloved buildings.

    Durand has a small, intimate size that allows residents to get to know all of their neighbors and form a welcoming community.
  • EAST House is a close-knit community and home for sophomores, juniors, and seniors in the Magnolia Neighborhood.

    Centrally located on Mayfield Avenue, two minutes from Tresidder Memorial Union and five from the Quad, East Florence Moore Hall consists of three houses—Alondra, Cardenal and Faisan.
  • Grove is a close-knit community. We often have casual in-house events, like trivia nights, to fit with our laid back attitude.
  • Hammarskjöld, the “house with the large front porch and tall columns,” is Stanford’s international-themed co-op.

    Jerry is a tucked away haven for vibrant self-op community. With glorious sunset views of Lake Lag best enjoyed from its two balconies, Jerry boasts a beautiful space conducive to lively events, including its beloved Row Signature Event, Renaissance Jerr.
  • Junipero, affectionately known as JRo, is located on the east side of campus, in the community of dormitories known together as Wilbur Hall.
  • Kappa Alpha is located in the northern section of campus at 664 Lomita, near Lake Lagunita.
  • Kappa Alpha Theta (585 Cowell) is well known for its location in the back of the Cowell cluster, which makes the house quiet and private.

    Kappa Sigma (1035 Campus) has an atmosphere that is exciting and busy.
  • Kimball Hall thrives as a hub of creative activity on campus. Located in the Gerhard Casper Quad, Kimball has a music practice room, art studio, and a large lounge with excellent acoustics, lighting system, two grand pianos and a fireplace.
  • Lantana is part of the vibrant Gerhard Casper Quad, which is home to the acclaimed Gerhard Casper Dining Commons. All of Lantana’s common spaces are located on the wheelchair-accessible first floor.
  • Larkin's 2023-24 student leaders at the beach spelling "LARKIN" with their bodies.
    Larkin is the longest-serving all-frosh house situated close to the center of campus.
  • Due to its coveted location, amazing chef, and tight-knit community, Mars is a beloved home to its residents.

    Mirrielees sits in proximity to Gerhard Casper Quad, Vaden, and other East Campus landmarks and offers a friendly environment a little removed from the hustle and bustle of the main campus.
  • Named after Augustus Taber Murray, Murray House is considered an independent house (along with EAST and Yost).
  • Muwekma-Tah-Ruk, established in 1988, celebrates the diversity of indigenous peoples throughout the Americas and Pacific Islands.

    Narnia House is a social oasis. Only a seven minute walk from the Row, Narnia reaps all the social benefits while also offering some distance from the roar of the Row.

    Formerly known as Slavianskii Dom, remnant decorations sprinkle the house as Neptune strives to bring vibrant, wholesome, inclusive energy to its house, neighborhood, and the Upper Row.

    Ng House features a fabulous lounge and kitchen, where students can cook, socialize, and enjoy the many events that the community puts on.

  • The Asian American theme house was established at Stanford in 1971 to create community and center the experiences of a very small and primarily first generation Asian American student population.
  • Otero community members
    Otero is Stanford’s Public Service and Civic Engagement (PSCE) Theme House.
  • Our community is diverse, vibrant, and just the right amount of weird.

  • Robert Moore South (BOB) is known for its extremely central location and therefore social nature, but few people realize it represents much more than just that.
  • Robinson House is located in Sterling Quad, where residents enjoy a vibrant and engaging community thanks to ongoing dorm activities and attentive RA staff.

    Residents enjoy regular community events, collaborations with other upper row houses, and a welcoming community.
  • It brings great honor to residents of Sally Ride House, formerly known as Serra House, to be named after a Stanford alumna and the first American woman in space.
  • What's Schiff house like? First, your student staff will be some of the first people you will meet when you arrive, and they are incredible.

    1047 Campus Drive is situated near the Stanford Dish as well as Lake Lagunita.
  • Soto is located on the east side of campus, in the community of houses known together as Wilbur Hall.
  • Storey House is known for its extraordinary food; students and staff travel from across campus every other week for our extravagant brunches.

    The Suites are located in the west section of campus, near the golf course and Lake Lagunita. Consisting of four individual houses: Anderson, Griffin, Jenkins and Marx.

    Synergy is a hybrid co-op located on Stanford campus, tucked just above the Row.
  • Terra is the unofficial queer and trans-themed hybrid co-op and the community strives to foster a space that is safe for marginalized students.

    We hope to help make Toyon a community of the kind that encourages students to feel truly at home and able to integrate the often-confusing variety of college life.
  • Trancos is home to Stanford's Outdoor House.
  • Close to the heart of campus, Twain is adjacent to volleyball and basketball courts, and expansive lawns for lounging and relaxing.

    Ujamaa House was created as a concept in 1970 with a concentration of Black first-year and upperclass students living on east campus, and moved to its current location in 1976.
  • The Warehaus is a self-operated house located on the upper Row.
  • West Lag (Eucalipto and Granada) has a strong sense of history, community, and tradition.
  • Xanadu—“the enigma of the Row”—is an inclusive home.
  • Yost House is situated in a serene, open space of West Campus near Lake Lagunita.
